  1. Meeting Skills for Results

    This session focuses on the issues,'what works' and practical strategies that help meetings produce results. Whether you are having a governance meeting to make decisions, a meeting to give or get information or a working meeting to focus on a project or initiative, this session will provide you with strategies and tools to do more, successfully. Topics explored are: discussion of the 6 different meeting types; meeting governance and goals; matin dynamics; using agendas for advantage; methods for recording meeting minutes; and tips for chairing and/or facilitating a meeting .Delivered to you via iCCAN video conference.

  2. Anger Control Training

    February 22, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ 803 Switzer Drive

    This training takes a holistic approach to controlling our anger. The approach of the training is focusing on Awareness, Coping Strategies, and Lifestyle changes. In order to understand our behavior we first must recognize specific thoughts, feelings and behaviors which intensify feelings of anger and can lead to aggressive behaviors. Once one has the awareness then we move on to discuss coping strategies to prevent or reduce feelings of anger and prevent any aggressive behavior. Coping strategies include challenging thoughts, reducing physical and emotional arousal and modifying behavior. Then once we begin to internalize these new coping strategies new behaviors emerge and with that a general lifestyle change to where we improve our ability to think and better problem solve and therefore act more positively

  3. Buying Organic, Is It Really Worth It?

    In Canada, sales of organic food have increased by 20% each year since 2000, and more than half of us are buying organic food. Organic food and products made with organic ingredients cost more, but is the extra expense really worth it? This session explores the rationale behind buying organic, the differences between products labeled 'organic' and 'natural', the new Canadian regulations,and how to save money when buying organic.
